Gujarati Dal  RECIPE

300 gms Toovar Dal
1 big Tomato (chopped)
1 Lemon(juice)
tsp Turmeric Powder
4 Green Chilies (chopped)
45 gms Jaggery ( Grated)
1 tsp Chili Powder
6 Cocum Pieces
30 gms Peanuts
2 Red Chilies
tsp Fenugreek Seeds
tsp Cumin Seeds
tsp Mustard Seeds
12 Curry Leaves
2 Bay Leaves
3 Cloves
Salt (to taste)
Coriander Leaves ( Garnishing)

Wash dal and peanuts in 750 ml of water.
Once dal is cooked, mix it till it become smooth.
Heat up the pan with oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves , cloves, bay leaves , fenugreek, asafoetida and red chilies.
Add tomato, cocum, chili powder, green chilies, turmeric powder, jaggery and fry it for 3 min.
Add 750 ml water, salt, dal and lime juice.
Cook it for 15 min in low flame and garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve it.
