Parenting Young Children
Being
a parent is one of the most fulfilling experiences a person can have.
There is a natural instinct that seems to come to a new parent, but
there are bits of advice that can help when you are challenged in the
growing up years. The most important thing however, that any parent can
give their child, is a sense of being loved and the most important thing
that any parent can remember is that they don't have to be infallible to
be a "perfect" parent.

If you have kids ages 8 through 15, these tips are FOR YOU !
1. Set bed times. Your child needs to go to bed at a reasonable
time. Try these suggestions-
- 8 year old - 8:00 or 8:30
- 9 year old - 8:00, 8:30, 8:45
- 10 year old- 8:45, 9:00
- 11 year old - 9:00 or 9:30
- 12 year old - 9:30 , 9:45
- 13 year old - 9:45 or 10:00
- 14 year old - 9:45, 10:00, 10:12
- 15 year old - 10:15
2. Set chores. Your children should help out around the house.
Set age-appropriate chores. Here are some suggestions: keep room clean,
dishes, feed pets, vacuum, sweep, organize closets, mop floor, trash,
set and clear table
3. Set reasonable punishments. If you don't set a punishment for
not doing chores, your kids probably won't do them. Here are some
examples of acts and punishments.
- Not doing all chores, talking back, writing on walls, bad grades
- Grounding (for as long as you feel is right)
- Not doing some chores - time out, sit on floor, naughty step,
hitting, biting, swearing, insulting, getting banned on a website,
looking up bad things, getting an account on a website that you said
"NO" to, not following rules, getting arrested - Spanking (how, last
step)
4. Feed them healthy foods. KEEP THEM HEALTHY.
5. Make them brush their teeth. You don't want them to have a cavity.
6. Allow them some freedom. Let them have their space.
7. Set Rules. Your choice of rules, no suggestions.
8. Bring them to the doctor and dentist regularly.
9. "How to give a spanking" Grab the child, lay it on it's stomach,
swat the butt. It's your choice of putting her/him over your knee to
do it, an if you do it bare bottom or fully clothed, or with just undies.
You can also do it with a belt of hairbrush if it's an extremely
horrible act.
