As the saying goes “Health is Wealth”, Health is the most important
things for sustaining a happy life. Hence it becomes our prime
responsibility to take care of it. Even then in the rush of life we
tend to forget the actual needs of our body. We don’t indulge into
right eating practices and no proper exercise routine and so on.
Kids too in the time being become part of this unhealthy system as
they too are treating their bodies pretty badly by eating a poor
diet and not getting enough physical activity, instead eating and
doing other things they consider more appealing. Even when the
parents know and try to follow healthy lifestyle, then too many a
time’s kids don’t realize how fun and rewarding living a healthy
life really is.
If kids set an example for their friends they’ll be much more likely
to stay healthy. Kids have the power to do great things, including
changing the health of our future generation.
Some Healthy Tips for your Kids:
- Educate your Child and his/her friends about how healthy
habits can improve quality of life –make them learn the importance
of right eating and exercising daily so that they may take their
own decision judiciously.
- Exercise with your kids or let them plan outdoor games
and activities with friends. Exercise can be fun when done in
group and a way to spend time together.
- Give your child healthy and appealing foods, which
should be nutritionally balanced having some food from each food
group and it should be convenient for the child to eat and be
palatable.
- Breakfast is very important meal of the day as it
refuels the body for the entire day so make sure that your child
eats a proper breakfast. He/ she should eat variety of fresh
fruits and vegetables, whole grain cereals and lean meat and drink
milk and plenty of water. Small and frequent meals are best for a
growing kid.
- Take the help of your child to do your grocery and food
shopping as they will learn more about food.
- Even taking your child’s help in cooking will create
their interest in eating the food they have cooked themselves or
at least have helped you to prepare.
- Schedule your child’s daily activities including time
for some physical activity, games and some leisure or hobby
courses depending on his or her school timings and meal timings.
- When your kid spend time playing on computer or watching
T.V., insist on them to get on the web and look out for some
websites for kids and make them sit and read from these websites
and then ask them to use the information in their daily lives.

Eat
protein at every meal, including breakfast.
Eliminate wheat- and flour-based products for the time being.
Reduce starch to one portion a day, and don't eat that portion during your
evening meal.
Apples, pears, plums and berries all are good choices. Bananas are not.
Reduce or eliminate dairy for the time being, especially cow's milk. |
