Russian Sandwich

Preparation time: 10 minutes   * No cooking * Makes 4 sandwiches.

Ingredients How To ?

For the sandwich filling

  • 1 teacup finely chopped boiled vegetables (carrots, cabbage, green peas, cauliflower, potatoes, French beans)
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons fresh cream
  • 2 teaspoons thick fresh curds
  • 2 tablespoons grated carrots
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • A pinch pepper powder

For topping

  • Cress
  1. Mix all the ingredients for the sandwich filling.

  2. Divide the mixtureinto two and spread over 2 slices of bread.
  3. Cover with the other 2 slices.
*Cut each sandwich into two, decorate with cress and serve.

Health Information : The high fat and cholesterol containing mayonnaise is replaced in this sandwich by fresh cream and curds, thereby   providing a healthy snack, rich in many essential minerals.
