Honeyed Chicken Wings -
Marinated chicken pieces wrapped in
paper and deep fried

Chicken wings - 16-20
Honey - 4 tablespoons
Corn flour/ corn starch - 1/2 cup
Garlic, crushed - 2 cloves
Oil - 2 tablespoons + to deep fry
Light soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
Hoi sin sauce - 2 tablespoons
Red chilli flakes - 2 tablespoons
Salt to taste
Lemon juice - 1 teaspoon
Sesame seeds (til), toasted - 1 tablespoon
Wash and pat dry the chicken wings.
Mix two tablespoons of corn flour in one cup of
water and reserve the rest for dusting the chicken
wings. Heat sufficient oil in a wok or a pan, dust the
chicken wings with the remaining corn flour and
deep-fry turning frequently, for about four to five
minutes. Drain on absorbent paper.
Heat two tablespoons of oil in a wok or a
pan, add the garlic and stir-fry for half a minute.
Immediately add the light soy sauce, hoi sin sauce,
chilli flakes and salt.
Add the fried chicken wings and stir in the corn
Cook on medium to high heat for a minute, stirring
continuously. Lower the heat and stir in the lemon
juice and honey, mix well and cook further on medium
heat for a couple of minutes.
